mild® Q & A

What causes spinal stenosis?

Stenosis is a condition in which the spinal canal narrows and compresses the spinal cord in your lower back. The cause of this condition could simply be the aging process, formation of excess bone, disc bulging or compression. Symptoms are pain, numbness and tingling in your buttocks, legs and low back which may be worsened by standing or walking.

How does the procedure work?

The procedure is done on an outpatient basis, requiring no anesthesia and is done through a small incision without stitches, keeping the risk of complications extremely low. Special tools are used to remove the excess ligament and small pieces of bone that cause the narrowing of the spinal canal and subsequent discomfort.

What is the aftercare following the mild® procedure?

You should be able to resume light activities within a few days.
